Priory Medical Group

The NHS is aware of a global IT outage which is leading to disruption in some GP practices. We have not been affected and patients should continue to attend appointments, use our telephone and digital systems as normal. However, we are aware that some pharmacies (Day Lewis and Whitworths) are having issues with retrieving ETP prescriptions and are asking patients to come to surgery for a written copy.

There are rising rates of Covid-19 locally and lots of patients are contacting us for advice. The majority of people with the viral illness recover quickly with self care measures. The symptoms can be troublesome - often a headache, sore throat, cough and there is advice how to manage these here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/covid-19/covid-19-symptoms-and-what-to-do/ People that fall in the highest risk groups can access free covid test from community pharmacies and self refer for consideration of anti-viral medication here: https://selfrefer.yorkshirehealthpartners.co.uk Patients with covid-19 and feel unable to work, can self certify for 7 days without the need for a fit note.
